NaijaExclusive Artiste Focus: Reekado Banks

On this edition of Naijaexclusive Artiste Focus, we are centralizing on one creative and talented Afropop artiste, Reekado Banks.

Born Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, the talented singer is the last child of a spiritually solid family. The artiste was inspired by musical icons such as 2Face Idibia, MI Abaga, Dj Jimmy Jatt, Olamide and his former record boss, Donjazzy. Reekado Banks was signed to Mavin Records in 2014 and afterwards released a spanking single tagged ‘Turn It Up’ which features Tiwa Savage. This was his first track under the label.

Reekado Banks have worked on a studio project ‘Spotlight’ in 2016 and have also recorded over 40 songs under the imprint of Mavin Records both singles and featured. His Album topped Billboard Magazine For weeks after the release.

The Afropop singer have been involved in a number of awards wining five of five nominations, according to Wikipedia. Lets start with the 2015 Headies Next Rated Award; Reekado Banks was involved in a heated up controversy following his win Amongst other nominees (Lil kesh, Kizz Daniel, Korede Bello and Madrina). He proved his authenticity with the Energetic ‘Spotlight’ album in 2016, the year after the award.

Currently solely under his label, Banks Music, the 25 year old singer proves himself in his new single ‘Yawa’ after his departure from his first ever label, Mavin Records.

Some extra facts about Reekado Banks that some fans may not know is that he is a native of Ondo State where his father is a devoted pastor. He is a graduate of the University of Lagos with a degree in History and Strategic Studies.
