Editorials: 5 Artistes Who Became Inconsequential After One Hit Song
Being consistent in the Nigerian music industry is tedious and that’s why the ones who are relentless should be applauded. So many singers have been unable to reproduce the effort that brought them into limelight.
As a matter of fact, various artistes have been welcomed into the music scene with varieties of hit singles but one way or the other couldn’t keep up with back-to-back hit songs or even totally went away from the music scene.
So many fans who are expectant have loss interest, some have even gone to the extent of expelling these singers from their minds. Its so bitter that such an opportunity so many upcoming artistes are looking for is been taken for granted.
Below are 5 artistes who became inconsequential after one hit song:
1. Humblesmith
The man behind the mega hit, Osinachi hasn’t been relevant even after releasing an album mid last year. Humblesmith gained the industry’s attention when he featured Davido on the remix of his first single which originally featured Phyno.
2. Sean Tizzle
There is no doubt that majority have now forgotten the Sho Lee crooner who was initially perceived to be the replica of Davido. After the D’tunes produced track recorded massive airplay in 2013, we find it difficult to get another buzzing tune from Sean Tizzle.
3. Kelly Handsome
Maga don pay! The slang that ruled in 2008 was actually coined out by Kelly Handsome. We all vibed to this song, and its painful to hear he couldn’t come up with another slang after his hit faded. Kelly Handsome has released other singles, but right now, so many fans feel its not worthy to be listened to.
4. Terry G
The apako master, Terry G went off the radar too fast. He used to be the street vibe machine as people never cease to dance when apako is played. Terry G whose performance used to be electrifying isn’t now what we want. This is because his hit songs now tend to be stale.
5. AYdotcom
Pass me your love by AYdotcom was a massive hit in 2009. He released alot of singles to cement his fame in the industry but its heartbreaking to see him drop loads of trash and causing his career to fade away so quickly.
