Post Malone‘s been teasing his sophomore album, Beerbongs & Bentleys for a long time. While he initially revealed that the album’s release would arrive in December 2017, that clearly didn’t happen. Instead, he perfected what he was working on and released several massive singles including the 21 Savage assisted, “Rockstar” and “Psycho” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. The rapper finally unveiled the release date a few weeks back and today, it finally arrives. A little over 12 hours since it dropped and it’s already made major marks.

Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys has officially gone platinum, according to chartdata. This comes a little over fourteen hours since it dropped. While it’s an incredible feat, it should be noted that the success of “Rockstar,” “Psycho” and “Candy Paint,” played a major role in reaching platinum status quickly.

This seems to be a growing trend with artists who have a major single driving their album sales. Cardi B’s Invasion Of Privacy went Gold within 24 hours due to the success of “Bodak Yellow.” Chartdata has also reported that Drake’s forthcoming album, Scorpion will be eligible for gold status once it’s released which is entirely due to the success of “God’s Plan” which was recently certified 7x platinum. In addition, the release of “Nice For What” might even help him reach platinum once it drops.

In addition to Post’s quick platinum status, the singer’s debut album Stoney has tied Whitney Houston’s self-titled debut album for second most weeks in the top 10 of the Top R&B/Hip Hop Album charts, according to Billboard.
