Crystal Palace Interested In Signing Former AC Milan Striker Alberto Gilardino
Crystal Palace could turn to Italian striker Alberto Gilardino in a bid to solve their goal-scoring crisis, according to Gazzamercato.
Crystal Palace are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League and are yet to score in seven matches so far, and the 35-year-old could be brought in until the end of the season to add options and experience up front. He is currently a free agent.
Palace have failed to score a goal or earn a point from their opening seven Premier League games to leave them rooted to the bottom of the table, and Hodgson is desperate to bring in a striker to fill the void left by Benteke’s injury.
A number of strikers have been linked with Palace, and sources said Italian World Cup winner Gilardino has emerged on their radar.
Gilardino, who won the Champions League with AC Milan in 2007, boasts a wealth of experience after making over 600 appearances in his career and scoring 226 goals in his career.
