Hearn: Whyte-Chisora II Must Happen

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is confident there will be a rematch between Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora, but cannot say for certain if it will be the next match.

Chisora and Whyte fought in an exciting heavyweight bout in December, with Whyte winning by narrow split decision.

Both boxers still feel they have a score to settle and Hearn is anticipating a rematch soon.

“It’s a fight I definitely want to make and both guys realise it is huge,” Hearn told Sky Sports.

“Whether it happens next or not… Probably not. But whether it happens in the future… it’s more than likely.

“Again, the aim for Dillian Whyte is to fight for a world title, whether that’s Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker or Anthony Joshua, that is the aim. He wants to be a world champion.

“But the Dereck Chisora fight, you can’t ignore it. It’s huge.

“The first fight was one of the best heavyweight fights anyone has ever seen; we want to see it again and we have to give the public what they want.

“So if we can’t do that next, we do it the one after, but at some point we need to make Whyte-Chisora II.”
