Arsenal Interested In Signing Marseille Defender Christopher Rocchia In January

Arsenal are pondering a swoop for Marseille left-back Christopher Rocchia, reports Foot Mercato.

The Gunners are expected to make a move for the 19-year-old when the transfer window opens again in January.

Christopher Rocchia was part of the Marseille side that reached the final of the Coupe Gambardella – the equivalent of the FA Youth Cup – this summer, but he’s in the last year of his current contract.

Sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta is trying to tie the youngster down to a three-year professional deal, but negotiations have dragged on since the summer.

And, while talks continue to stall, Arsenal and other top European clubs will be keeping a close eye on his situation heading into the winter transfer window.
