Huddersfield Complete Loan Move For Goalkeeper Jonas Lossl

Huddersfield have completed the loan signing of Denmark international Jonas Lossl after missing out on Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward.

Town boss David Wagner was keen to re-sign Wembley hero Ward this season but good pal Jurgen Klopp wants to keep the Welsh stopper at Liverpool.

The 28 year-old custodian joins the Terriers on loan until 30 June 2018, at which point Huddersfield Town has the option to complete a permanent transfer.

Standing at an imposing 6’ 5” tall, Lossl arrives at the John Smith’s Stadium with over 250 top-flight appearances under his belt in Denmark, France and Germany, as well as European and international experience.

Wagner used the German market brilliantly last season, bringing in the likes of Chris Lowe, Michael Hefele and Chris Schindler as Town pulled off an unlikely promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

And it appears the Terriers chief’s excellent contacts back home have paid dividends again with a move for Lossl.

SunSport understands Town will have the option to buy the one-cap Dane permanently next summer.

Lossl made 34 appearances for Mainz last season in all competitions and also made his senior debut for Denmark as a substitute against Scotland.
